Assassin’s Creed 3 Rumors: Revolutionary War Confirmed?
Here’s something we’ve all seen coming but still managed to be blown away by the actual news coming out. Kotaku received images from an apparent Best Buy employee of alleged Assassin’s Creed 3 promotional posters and material, stating the game and it’s lovely pre-order bonuses will be revealed March 5th. But the real kicker is an image of the apparent main character, a Native American looking Assassin fellow with Revolutionary War-era clothing and accessories, standing behind an American flag with 13 stars. Is this what we’ll be seeing from the next Assassin’s Creed title?
These new details and images definitely seem to add up, as Ubisoft has recently begun to start the wheels turning on revealing Assassin’s Creed 3 to the world, with it’s official Facebook page teasing an image of a snowy field and more details to follow in a few days. This leaked image of the new Assassin practically solidifies earlier rumors/reports of a Revolutionary wartime setting.
As you can see, the drawing of this new Assassin looks absolutely BAD ASS. With weapons like tomahawks and a bow-and-arrow, one can only dream of incredible new gameplay scenarios. What’s most intriguing is the Assassin’s nationality: is he Native American? He certainly looks it. Regardless, he fits right in to the AC universe. The cold, harsh, winter-time look of the drawing possibly provides a hint as to the game’s atmosphere. It brings to mind the famous images of George Washington and his soldiers at Valley Forge in the dead of winter. Looks like Assassin’s Creed 3 will be no slouch in the history geek department!
The first official details are expected to be revealed in a few days, with info possibly trickling out leading to an official reveal on March 5th, thanks to Best Buy employee’s information submitted to Kotaku. So keep your eyes peeled on the official Assassin’s Creed Facebook page and Word of the Nerd for upcoming Assassin’s Creed 3 news!
