Published in the late 1970s and early 1980s, the Star Trek comic strip debuted on December 2, 1979, and ran in newspapers across the country for four years.

Have you ever wanted to have a collection of old comics that chronicles the adventures of the intrepid crew of the original Enterprise?
Well then, you’re in luck!
Originally debuting on December 2, 1979, these comic strips ran in newspapers all across the country for four years before vanishing from sight (and possibly from memory for many). These strips ran seven days a week, and picked up right after the first Star Trek film left off. The daily strips were printed in black and white while the Sundays were done in color, and though they have all been lost for many years, they have nevertheless been restored by the Library of American Comics for our viewing pleasure.
Consider it an archeological find in the nerd world!
This particular volume will contain ten complete story arcs for the enjoyment of any true fan both old and new.
Published and distributed by IDW Publishing and the Library of American Comics, Star Trek: The Newspaper Strips, Vol. 1 is due to hit the shelves this October. Due to be released as a hardcover, this book will no doubt be the perfect addition to the collection of any fan regardless of whether they read comic books or not, or of the fan’s age.
