Vamplets! Monster Babies on the Rise!

Vamplets-ComixologyVamplets answers the eternal question…where do monster babies come from?

Well, in the world of Gloomvania, they result simply from vampires, werewolves and zombies telling their lovers/significant others “I love you.”  The babies (ridiculously adorable babies, I might add) literally appear out of thin air with a poof.

So much for safe-sex, right?

Naturally, the parents can’t be bothered spending their undead lives looking after their offspring, so they dump them all upon the long-suffering Mr. G (a.k.a., the Grim Reaper). However, being the Grim Reaper, Mr. G doesn’t have the time to look after the seemingly ever-growing amount of unwanted babies, so he does what any self-respecting, forced guardian would do…he hires a nanny.

Enter Destiny Harper, a normal human girl from the mortal world who doesn’t see herself as being particularly special. If ever there was a cross between  Corpse Bride and My Little PonyVamplets would be it, and Destiny assumes the role of Corpse Bride’s Victor character as she is transported into the undead world of Gloomvania where “sweet is hideous, and hideous is sweet.”  Naturally, after being thrown into such an environment with the general ‘sink or swim’ attitude of Mr. G, it’s only natural that Destiny encounters more than her share of bumps along the road of her new life.

Brought to you by Action Lab Comics, and written by Gayle Middleton and Dave Dwonch,Vamplets is a graphic novel drawn loosely in the manga style by Amanda Coronado and Bill Blankenship, and it acts as the perfect gateway story to those who are interested in getting into the horror genre. It allows those readers to slowly get their feet wet without being thrown completely into the deep end of the horror pool. Perfect for comic book readers of all ages, the first volume of this beautiful, hardcover graphic novel series will be hitting the shelves of comic books stores at the end of September.

All in all, I would highly recommend this new series to anyone. With its beautiful artwork, relatable heroine, as well as its new and compelling story, it’s the perfect addition to any comic book lover’s shelf. Don’t forget to buy your copy!
