An Avalanche of New Wonder Woman News

Wonder Woman poster A

Gal Gadot took to Twitter to release a new Wonder Woman poster and tease the release of a new trailer. The trailer debuts at the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards.

Wonder Woman Gears Up

Social media is a powerful tool. It amplifies voices, keeps companies accountable to consumers, and allows companies to do damage control for dissatisfied customers. Such is the case with the DCEU. For example, Justice League director Zack Snyder is releasing sneak peeks of his film via any platform he can. And, this weekend, Gal Gadot looked to get the wheels rolling on the Wonder Woman hype train. It’s the first big marketing push we’ve seen for the film, and it seems like they’re going all in.

First, Gal shared a great new poster for the film:

The first poster was pretty good, but this one is marvelous. So if the aesthetic of the film can match that of the posters, Wonder Woman is shaping up to be a fantastic looking movie.

Then, she thanked the fans for the positive response to the poster and support for the film in a short video:

The video ends with her hinting that “an even bigger surprise” is on its way. Obviously, a new trailer is imminent. Shortly after the video, Gal retweeted Nickelodeon’s tweet and said to tune into the Kid’s Choice Awards on 3/11 more surprises:

So, we have a rough release window for the trailer. And that’s great. But the official Wonder Woman Twitter kept the surprises going by sharing a sneak peek at Saturday’s trailer:

The footage features a voice over from Queen Hippolyta instructing Robin Wright’s General Antiope to train Diana until she is the best warrior in their tribe. Then, we see Antiope pushing Diana to a breaking point until Diana activates a defensive shield from her wrist guards. So there we have it. The look of the film is great and the action looks big and mythic. Meanwhile, the training is reminiscent of Batman Begins. As far as influences go, Christopher Nolan’s bat-trilogy is not a bad one to have. Based on everything we’ve seen so far, Wonder Woman has the potential to be the DCEU’s first universally praised movie.
