Batman Rides Again in Justice League

Justice League isn’t due in theaters for another eight months, but Zack Snyder can’t contain his excitement for the film. Last month, the director shared a photo of Batman taking down some baddies. And just last week, he shared some test footage of Aquaman in his domain. This week, Snyder revealed the first look at Batman’s Batmobile via the social media platform Vero, and it is…decked out. Take a look below!

Batmobile Zack Snyder Justice League

The first thing that jumps out is how many guns are on this thing! There are three turrets and some sort of rocket launcher on top. Snyder caused some controversy with Batman v. Superman when he had The Caped Crusader wield a gun in the film’s final act. Heck, he even blew a guy up via the tank on his flamethrower. Of course, all of that seems in direct contradiction with Batman’s “no killing” rule. Granted, Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises played fast and loose with the rule in that film’s climax. And Snyder’s Batman is a grizzled war veteran that has been forced to evolve with the increasingly violent times.

Second, this Batmobile is decidedly more angular than previous incarnations. Looks like Batman is no longer dealing in the art of subtlety. The tumbler certainly was not the paragon of stealth but appears ninja silent next to this behemoth. These all sound like criticisms, but they’re not. Frankly, it’s too early to tell how Justice League will pan out. So, for now, one can only hope for the best and be cautious about a universe with an unproven track record. However, the DCEU may course correct yet, if early Wonder Woman reports are to be believed.
