Ludi Lin Joins Aquaman Cast
From the town of Angel Grove, California to the realms of Atlantis. The AV Club just came out with the news that Power Rangers’ Ludi Lin has been cast in the long-awaited DCEU film Aquaman. Ludi Lin portrayed the Black Ranger in the Power Rangers reboot that just came out earlier this year. Now he’s joined the cast of Aquaman in the role of Murk.
GO GO Aquaman
Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as the title character alongside Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen, and Temuera Morrison. This latest installment in the DCEU will be directed by James Wan (known for the Fast and Furious 7).
The wikia describes Murk as “Murk trained in the fire pits and was the sole survivor so that he could protect his home from the “evils of man”. He became the leader of the front-line army of Atlantis, the Men-of-War, and defended King Orm against the likes of the Fire-Trolls and the Deep Six.” According to the comics Murk is the head of the group known as Men-of-War which is basically Atlantis’ army. He is a “trusted ally” for Aquaman and is said to help Arthur Curry in the battle against the latter’s half-brother Orm Marius (also known as Ocean Master) who will be portrayed by Patrick Wilson and of course Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Black Manta, the main villain for the Aquaman film.
This is definitely a career boost for Lin, who before his role on Power Rangers, had only been in a guest post for Netflix’s Marco Polo and a TV Movie called Holiday Spin. Now he is going to be known for being a Power Ranger and being in the DCEU which will hopefully open more doors for this talented actor.
Aquaman will arrive in theaters on December 21, 2018.
