According to Variety, the Wonder Woman sequel, currently titled Wonder Woman 2, has gotten a release date. Wonder Woman 2 will be released in theaters on December 13, 2019.
More about Wonder Woman 2
Wonder Woman 2 is currently being worked on by Patty Jenkins and DC Extended Universe head, Geoff Johns, despite the fact that Patty Jenkins is not currently set to direct Wonder Woman 2. It looks like that the film will not be set during World War One, as the first one was. However, it will also not be set during our current age: the movie will take place at an as yet undetermined or announced time. Patty Jenkins has said previously that she would set a hypothetical Wonder Woman sequel in the United States (where the main films in the DC Extended Universe take place), but it’s not clear that that would end up being the case with this particular sequel.
Wonder Woman, directed by Patty Jenkins and starring Gal Gadot as the eponymous superhero, has done very well at the box office so far. According to Box Office Mojo, it made $103,251,471 in its first weekend and is currently 27th on a list of All Time Domestic Releases. In addition, it is currently the film in the DC Extended Universe that has made the most money so far, which I’m sure that Warner Brothers has certainly noticed. This success is almost certainly why Warner Brothers and DC decided to give the Wonder Woman sequel a December 13, 2019, release date, which the Warner Brothers had previously reserved as a date for an “event film.”
You can still watch Wonder Woman in a movie theater near you if you’ve somehow missed it. Wonder Woman will also appear in Justice League, which will be released on November 17, 2017.
