DinoGenics: Dinosaur Park Management

Compete to build the most popular and profitable dinosaur park in this thematic worker placement board game.

DinoGenics
DinoGenics

DinoGenics, by Ninth Haven Games LLC, is a worker placement game where players compete to build the most successful and profitable dinosaur park. Each player takes on the role of a multi-billion dollar corporation, each with access to their private island park. Over the course of seven seasons, players will send workers to the nearby mainland to collect resources such as DNA, fences and other necessities needed to run a successful park.

Once a player has assembled their resources, they get to choose how to layout their individual parks and decide which dinosaurs they will attempt to house. Parks with the most prestigious dinosaurs will attract the most visitors, but remember, dinosaurs have a mind of their own and if neglected or improperly penned, they will attempt to escape and spread havoc.

DinoGenics plays out over 7 seasons, each composed of an Open Season and an Upkeep phase. During the Open Season phase, players will attract visitors based on the reputation of their individual parks. Reputation in DinoGenics is decided primarily by the types of dinosaurs a park contains; in general, the more dangerous the dinosaur, the more exciting it will be for visitors and increase your reputation the most.

The Park Manager Pledge ($54 USD) includes a full copy of DinoGenics complete with all unlocked stretch goals.

All or nothing. This project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Thursday, November 2, 2017. The project has reached its goal and is currently 345% funded.

Coma Ward

The suspense-thriller tabletop game that engages the imagination with horror movie worthy phenomenon. A new nightmare with each play!

Coma Ward
Coma Ward

In Coma Ward, by Everything Epic, 2-6 players assume the roles of a group of amnesiacs who have just awoken from a coma. You know little about your character and even less about the abandoned hospital you occupy. Scattered throughout the hospital are clothes, tools, and other useful items. There are also unknown terrors waiting in the empty halls and undiscovered rooms.

Coma Ward is played in two acts, the Prologue and the Phenomenon. During the Prologue, you must find Clues to determine who you are and why you are all in this hospital together. Once you have uncovered three Clues, you can start to unravel the mysteries and comprehend the Phenomenon that caused this ghastly situation. The combination of Clues and the order in which they were revealed determines which Phenomenon is played. Each Phenomena is a unique scenario with unique win conditions, sometimes for each player individually. Some Phenomenon are cooperative, meaning all players win or lose together, and others are secretive and competitive.

As you explore the hospital, you must monitor your character’s Health and Terror levels. As characters’ Health decreases, so do their Strength and Dexterity. As characters’ Terror increases, they lose Focus, making it more difficult to accomplish tasks, and their unique Neuroses become more pronounced.

Characters in Coma Ward are intentionally not fully formed; they have no name, age, gender, race, occupation, or personality. Players are encouraged to use this blank slate as their canvas. All characters are equal in Health, Terror, Strength, Dexterity, and Focus. The only prefabricated aspect of characters are their flaws. In Coma Ward, each character has a Neurosis of some kind, and each Player will also draw a Quirk. These traits allow for distinct interactions between characters.

The $50 pledge level gets you the Coma Ward Core Game with Kickstarter Exclusive Phenomenon and all core stretch goals. The $75 deluxe pledge level gets you the Coma Ward Core Game with KS Exclusive Phenomenon PLUS the Cataclysmic Abominations Expansion Pack and all CORE & DELUXE Stretch Goals!

All or nothing. This project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Thursday, November 2, 2017. The project has reached its goal and is currently 246% funded.

RatLand: Conquest of the sewers!

Think like a rat, act like a rat. BE A RAT! Manage and multiply your clan of rats and become a master of the sewers. Scout the dangerous areas outside for food or snatch it from your neighbors. But be careful, they’ll try to do the same!

RatLand
RatLand

RatLand, by Eclipse Editorial, is a fun, light-hearted family game where players will try to make their clan of rats the most numerous in the sewers. But first, you must gather enough food (cheese) to feed your rats…

Other clans will try to steal your food or beat you to the three areas where food can be found: the dump, the city, and the field.

The fight for survival is fierce in the damp sewers of RatLand. Many rats put their lives at risk by going outside to search for food. Others, less bold, go through the winding dark pipe system to steal cheese from their oblivious neighbors’ pantries; while the most cautious rats stay in the nursery to fulfill the most important role: increase the clan’s population.

A pledge of $34 will get you the RatLand board game and all the stretch goals.

All or nothing. This project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Thursday, November 2, 2017. The project has reached its goal and is currently 294% funded.

Downfall – Deluxified Edition

Tasty Minstrel Games presents John D. Clair’s 4X post-apocalyptic strategy game “Downfall” – in Deluxified Format!

Downfall - Deluxified Edition
Downfall – Deluxified Edition

The bombs have fallen. The Earth lies in ruins. In an instant, 99% of the world’s population was dead or would be soon. Life as we knew it was over, and those of us who were “lucky” enough to survive the initial nuclear fires have had to adapt quickly to our harsh environment or join the fallen. It has been said that no person has ever been promised a tomorrow, but now, the same could be said for the entire human race.

This post-apocalyptic setting is the world of Downfall, a brand new game from designer John D. Clair (Mystic Vale). In this 4X strategy game, each player will take control of a unique faction in the year 2213. It is a bleak and unforgiving future where survival is never certain and there is no prize for second place – you either rise to the top, or you fall into ruin and decay.

Using a unique card drafting mechanism, players will have several options on their turn. Will they forage for resources, abate radiation, or travel and explore the desolated wasteland with their citizens and airships? As the game proceeds, will they spend time researching new technologies or triggering conflicts with their opponents? All of these choices can earn a player points, albeit in different ways.

The standard $60 pledge level is for the standard version of Downfall only, it does NOT include any stretch goals, nor any of the Deluxified upgrades. To receive those, you will need to back the $80 Downfall Deluxified Pledge level. There is also a $100 Downfall Deluxified + Big Map Pledge, which also includes the Big Map Upsize Pack.

All or nothing. This project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Friday, November 10, 2017. The project has reached its goal and is currently 211% funded.

Monster Lands – a strategic dice placement game

Monster Lands is a competitive 1-4 player Euro-game. It combines worker placement, resource management, and fun battles with monsters.

Monster Lands
Monster Lands

In Monster Lands, by Second Gate Games, players take on the role of the leader of a small clan of brave warriors, competing to win the crown of the Lands of the Discord. These clans will visit buildings within and around the Citadel, the last bastion against marauding Monsters. Here they will battle the monsters and reclaim the lands for the Queen.

At the end of the game, the crown is handed to the clan with most Victory Points, which are gained by amassing glory, reputation, and a few other elements that enrich the game. The dice are used to take actions using a “worker-placement” mechanic to acquire hunting tools, shields, potions, venoms, mercenaries, and more. The timing of the dice placement and the type of dice will have different effects. Outside the Citadel, the dice become battle tools. They are rolled in missions and battles to try and defeat monsters or reconquer the land. There are many opportunities to manipulate the dice results and increase your chance of success.

The luck of the dice alone will not win the crown. Resources will need to be carefully managed and battles planned carefully to be successful in reclaiming the lands.

The Early Leader pledge is sold out, but the Leader pledge (approx. $64 USD) contains the base game of Monster Lands that will be available in retail, plus all the Kickstarter-exclusive stretch goals. With the Monster pledge (approx. $99 USD), you will get deluxe components on top of everything you get in the Leader pledge.

All or nothing. This project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Wednesday, November 15, 2017. The project has reached its goal and is currently 433% funded.
