X-O Manowar Costume Revealed

Valiant Entertainment’s Ninjak vs. the Valiant Universe is well underway in production. The series, created by Bat in the Sun director/actor Aaron Schonke (Superpower Beatdown), will focus on the titular spy/ninja as he takes on the various characters population Valiant comics.

teaser trailer gave us our first look earlier this year, along with a picture of Power Rangers star Jason David Frank as Bloodshot. Now, we have a first look at Derek Theler as X-O Manowar. Valiant CEO and Chief Creative Officer Dinesh Shamdasani posted a picture on Tuesday of Derek Thaler in full costume as the Viking turned space knight.

Unlike many costumes for media adaptation of costumes, X-O Manowar’s costume hasn’t been reimagined in the name of realism. It looks like it jumped off the pages of the comics itself, with vibrant colors and imaginative design. However, Theler is without X-O’s helmet, so it’s not a complete look.

When Will Ninjak Arrive?

Ninjak vs. the Valiant Universe was originally intended to debut in late 2017. But as the year begins to wind down, it seems more and more unlikely. Shamdasani announced he will be revealing more pictures of the actors in costume as the series comes closer and closer to its release.

Along with Derek Theler as X-O Manowar, the series stars Michael Rowe (Deadshot on Arrow) as Colin King/Ninjak, an enhanced MI6 agent. Ninjak gets swept into a major conspiracy that will bring him face to face with heroes and villains of all kinds. The live-action web series will include characters such as Archer and Armstrong, X-O Manowar, Bloodshot, and Eternal Warrior, among others. The series will be six episodes in length, but no word on how long each episode would be.

Expect Ninjak vs. the Valiant Universe to debut sometime in 2018.
