IDW Games Announces Batman: The Animated Series – Gotham Under Siege Board Game
A new tabletop board game based on Batman: The Animated Series is coming from IDW Games. Gotham Under Siege will be the first in a series of games based on the popular animated television series. Batman: The Animated Series originally aired on Fox Kids from September 5, 1992, to September 15, 1995, with a total of 85 episodes.
Gotham Under Siege is designed by Richard Launius, known for such popular tabletop game titles as Elder Sign and Planet of the Apes. The game’s co-designer is Michael Guigliano, with artwork by TableTaffy and Leonardo Ito.
This release is based on the first season of the animated series. But there will be subsequent releases in the series. They will further expand on the Batman: The Animated Series universe and its later seasons.
Gotham Under Siege Gameplay
Gotham Under Siege is game for 1-5 players. Players take the role of Gotham’s heroes and fight to save the city from being destroyed. Dice allocation and threat management defend the city against henchmen and bosses.
Gotham Under Siege features many of our favorite heroes and villains from Gotham. The game features new and familiar settings for fans and gamers alike. Character miniatures and 3D city buildings allow players to capture the action and adventures of the animated series right on their tabletop.
Did you say “Miniatures”?
A recent Tweet from IDW Games reveals several of the unpainted miniatures to tease the upcoming release. These characters include Batgirl, Catwoman, Batman, Robin, and a double character miniature with the duo of Commissioner Gordon and Officer Renee Montoya.
