Supergirl/The Flash Crossover coming to CBS

What are the two most popular superhero shows on cable right now? Supergirl and The Flash.

The Flash is currently the highest rated CW Show while Supergirl is the new CBS darling, according to Variety. They both have lovable leads in Barry and Kara, and truly wonderful characters like Iris West, James Olsen, Cisco Ramon and Cat Grant. Wouldn’t it be great if we could see their worlds come together? Well our dreams are now a reality. Variety has just announced that our favorite scarlet speedster will cross over to National City. The episode is set to air on Monday March 28 at 8 pm on CBS.

Details are still being kept under wraps as the news was just announced on Wednesday. What we do know is that the episode will be titled “World’s Finest” and it will be the 18th episode of Supergirl’s freshman season. The episode was penned by Andrew Kreisberg and Michael Grassi and comes from a story by Greg Berlanti.

“We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we started making ‘Supergirl’ – The Flash and Supergirl are teaming up!” said Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg the executive producers for The Flash and Supergirl, reports Variety. “We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit (on top of his already immense workload) and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros. and DC for working this out. And finally thanks to the fans and journalists who have kept asking for this to happen. It is our pleasure and hope to create an episode worthy of everyone’s enthusiasm and support.”

Once the news broke, Grant Gustin, the star of The Flash, revealed the script page via Instagram with the caption “Really really. Flash is about to meet Supergirl.”

Fun fact, this will make Gustin the third ex-Glee member to appear on the CBS Show, the first being Melissa herself, then Blake Jenner who appeared as Adam Foster, and now Grant Gustin. The way things are shaping up, this crossover promises to be memorable.
