The Walking Dead Season 7 Key Art Released

Season 7, Coming Sooner Than You Think

AMC has released Season 7 Key art for their juggernaut series The Walking Dead.  The Tag line reads, “We’re just getting started,” and features Neegan and his deadly sidekick.

Last time on AMC’s The Walking Dead, when last we saw our tired, frightened heroes, they were bowing in the dark, covered in dirt and grime, waiting for dire fate to be meted out by the fearsome, yet frighteningly charismatic Neegan, portrayed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan.   Neegan, poised to deliver a skull shattering blow with Lucille, his barbed-wire wrapped baseball bat, was toying with our band of survivors. In addition, after a twisted game of “eenie meenie minie moe,” viewers were left stunned as Neegan left us with a bloody point-of-view cliff-hanger.

What is in Store?

Comicbook.com reports that the first half of season 7 sees our group in a bad, bad way. Grieving, broke and demoralized, they are trying to regroup after having been bent to Neegan’s will. Also, our group will be living in his society under his rule, after being shown a horrifying, life-shattering exemplification of what happens when they poke this particularly brutal bear.

Trouble Ahead for Carol as Well???

Neegan may not be the only cause of death in season 7. In a recent interview with comicbook.com, Melissa McBride let slip a little possible foreshadowing that could likely be a cause of concern for and Carol Fans out there. When McBride was asked if Carol could find love again after everything that has happened, the actress said this:

Melissa McBride plays Carol on AMC’s The Walking Dead

“This is a different season. She’s definitely got some healing to do in her mind and where she wants to be on this earth, or she wants to stick around or what.   I think she’s just got to get her mind right before she can even entertain any sort of relationship. I think it’s just difficult for her to have a relationship of any kind. Where we left off, if you care for somebody, you’re going to have to kill for them, and again, she’s just not sure she’s in that place.”

A Goliath of a Series, Seemingly Unstoppable!

It seems that The Walking Dead can do no wrong.  It continues season after season to deliver staggering ratings that decimate anything else airing in that same time spot.   The season 6 cliffhanger finale pulled in 14.6 million viewers, not counting streaming or DVR.

Season 7 premieres Sunday, October 23 at 9 PM on AMC.
