Attention Blade Runner fans! Variety has released the first teaser trailer for Blade Runner 2049, the long-awaited sequel to the hit 80s film Blade Runner. Blade Runner 2049 – 30 Years Gone
We see what looks like a train and a person walking, with Harrison Ford doing the first voice over of the teaser, “Replicants are like any other machine — they’re either a benefit or a hazard,” Ford’s character Rick Deckard says,“If they’re a benefit, it’s not my problem.” Then we get the Warner Bros logo and the filter changes to an orange one.
We see Ryan Gosling walking around what seems to be a barren wasteland and then encounter a building. He goes in, plays a note on the piano and then we get the final voiceover for this teaser trailer. “I did your job once. I was good at it,” Ford tells Gosling, as he comes up behind him with a gun pointed at him. “Things were simpler then,” Gosling tells him in response. Indicating that yes the times have changed since the last time we saw Deckard’s character.
It’s enough to fill fans with excitement for the series while leaving them wanting more. What we know about Blade Runner 2049 is not much but Warner Bros stated, “Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard, a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.”
Denis Villeneuve directed the film and joining Gosling and Ford will be Robin Wright, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Carla Juri, Barkhad Abdi, and Dave Bautista. Blade Runner 2049 will be released October 6 2017. Watch the teaser trailer below.
