Episode 38 – Beyond The Wall
Season seven of Game of Thrones has begun and with it comes a new season of It Is Known, Word of the Nerd‘s podcast dedicated to the smash HBO series Game of Thrones. This season we have ventured completely away from the books so even our veteran readers have no knowledge of what might happen from episode to episode. This season we’ve expanded our cast so there will be new cast members rotating in and out of each episode.
This Week On It Is Known
Bryan Brown, Dera Stark, Renee Jarvis and Riley Sinclair discuss this week’s episode Beyond The Wall. In spite of all the fiery and heart stopping action of this week’s episode, we could not help but focus on the many inconsistencies found. We prepare for the season finale and talk a little about GoT prop and replica weapons. Bryan also poses the question: “If there was one thing you could own from the series, what would it be?” Feel free to share your answer with us in the comments section below. We’ll read them during next week’s show.
We will have the final details about our Game of Thrones Book Club that will continue It Is Known into the off season.
Jon Snow and his unlikely companions travel north of the Wall in hopes of capturing a wight and delivering it to Kings Landing. Daenerys and Tyrion take stock of her past mistakes and plans for the future once she has seized the Iron Throne. Littlefinger guides Sansa into believing that Arya and Brienne are threats to her and Jon’s hold on the North. Jon’s group is surrounded by the Army of the Dead with no hope of escape. After receiving word from the Eastwatch, Daenerys intends on taking her dragons to rescue Jon. When she arrives, the dragons begin to lay waste to the army of undead. But the Night King deals a blow to Daenerys that could affect the outcome of the war. After insisting to be left behind, Jon faces the army of white walkers, only to be rescued by his long lost uncle, Benjen Stark. Freezing and barely conscience, Jon rides towards Eastwatch. Safely aboard ship, Jon and Dany contemplate whether the success of the mission came with too high a price.
