While 2018 ended in quite a successful mode, having delivered several fantastic anime, this year promises to be sensational in every aspect. From the hotly anticipated follow-up seasons of shows like One Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100, to even more exciting new releases such as The Promised Neverland, here is a list of six new anime to be excited about in 2019.

One Punch Man (Season Two)

After three years of waiting, One Punch Man season two is finally here. Fans around the world have been eagerly waiting for the second part of this superhero parody anime after its highly successful first season in 2016.

If you have yet to watch the first season, you don’t know what you’re missing! One Punch Man is an action-comedy anime that follows Saitama, a “normal” with supernatural strength. This power sees him become a hero just for fun, fighting and killing monsters at will. In his search for a purpose in life, he joined the Hero Association to get recognition for his actions.

The second season premiere dropped last week and the season is expected to run for 12 episodes. The season will continue to follow the story of Saitama, with main characters from the first season returning and a new villain coming. To celebrate the launch of the anime’s second season, The One Punch Store is giving 10% off everything in the store. Make sure you don’t miss out on this offer.

Mob Psycho 100 (Season Two)

Since the first season in 2016, Mob Psycho 100 is one of the anime series that fans have eagerly awaited. The anime is about a kid, Shigeo Kageyama, whose ordinary look does not match his extraordinary abilities. The kid is a character in the background, but this just serves to hide his real power. He has extremely strong and crazy psychic power. In the first season, Mob Kageyama defeated a cult, overcoming a group of powerful psychics. However, he comes to the conclusion that he needs to improve himself without using his incredible abilities.

The new season brings a lot of excitement as we learn how Mob has grown and developed. The season is great in both narrative and visuals, and consistently surprising throughout the episodes.

Pastel Memories (New)

Pastel Memories is a new anime based on the Japan-only mobile RPG. The series is set in the near future where the Otaku tradition of Akihabara is dying as a result of a global illness that causes loss of memory of the people’s love for manga and anime. However, Izumi and several friends are determined to save the culture from becoming extinct. They come up with a plan to restore the memories and make Akihabara great again. This is an exciting anime for everyone who loves magic, anime girls, action, and mystery.

The Price of Smiles (New)

The Price of Smiles will excite you due to its approach to war. It depicts war in a way that’s exciting and enjoyable. Although war is not awesome at all, it ignores the aftermath of the war itself and concentrates on the fun side of it.

The anime presents great warfare between two kingdoms. The Kingdom of Soleil and the great Grandgan Empire wage a constant and fierce war. Princess Yuki leads the kingdom in a struggle to save itself. However, Grandgan penetrates through Soleil’s territories from episode to another while the Princess does not give up. Through the series, the Princess learns how to lead, as well as the impact of war on life, morale, and territorial issues.

The audience later meets Stella, who fights for Grandgan but is always smiling despite the devastating loss she has experienced in the course of the war. The anime is full of turns and twists, and plenty of surprises, making it a great anime to watch.

The Promised Neverland

The Promised Neverland (New)

New in 2019, The Promised Neverland is an engrossing fantasy thriller that you shouldn’t miss. It follows the story of three orphans who are trying to stay safe and survive. Based on the manga, the three orphans (Emma, Ray, and Norman) discover that their good orphanage serves a dark purpose. The orphans stay in the Grace Field House under their caretaker, whom they call mom. Despite being given the best care, they are never allowed to see or visit the outside world. When Emma and her best friends discover the dark secret, they make it their quest to protect the other 34 orphans while also revealing to them about the outside world.

This anime has taken an excellent course of the manga plot, giving it a huge aspect of horror anime despite its beautiful art.

Kaguya-Sama: Love is War (New)

The anime, Kaguya-sama, takes the real meaning of the saying “all is fair in love and war”. It is a story of a love relationship between high school students Miyuki Shirogane and Kaguya Shinomiya. Kaguya comes from a wealthy family, and this saw her to Japan’s best high school. She is also the vice president of the council of students. In contrast, Miyuki came from a poor home and got the slot in the school through smart academic achievements.

The two start falling in love, but have the perspective that the one who acknowledges their feelings first loses their power. As a result, they start to engage in a war of words and actions aimed to force the other to confess their true feelings. The encounters that develop bring out both sophisticated and humorous situations, making the anime one of the most exciting. Finally, more parties, like Chika, get in between the two, making the anime even more interesting.
