Thanks to a New Deal, We’re Getting A Spider-Verse TV Series
Phil Lord and Chris Miller have managed to successfully convince Sony to allow them to produce and create a Spider-Verse TV series. And then some!
The deal is to allow them to make a live-action comedy and drama series, as well as some animated series. One of those series is going to be a Spider-Verse series. This series is one that Sony had been actively seeking out; so it’s really no surprise that they managed to reach an agreement. It also sounds like the team will be allowed to seek out other animated projects.
Phil Lord & Chris Miller
Phil Lord and Chris Miller together run a company called Lord Miller Productions. Naturally, that production company will be the one in charge of the new series.
This dynamic duo is also the same team that brought us Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. So obviously it’s safe to say that we can trust this team with a Spider-Verse TV series. They’re also the creators behind Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, 21 Jump Street, and The Lego Movie, and tons of other hits.
The team is also hoping to do multiple other series, though they’ve been doing a good job of keeping quiet on the specifics (for now). And if we’re really lucky, they’ll also be the ones in charge of any animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse spinoffs.
Sony has expressed their excitement for the deal, and seem to be more than willing to give the team almost anything they ask for. It makes sense, considering how many hits they have managed to come out with together.
