An actor of keen wit and sharp instinct, when Eddie was on stage, you couldn’t take your eyes off him. When he was off-stage, his broad, bright smile would light up the room. ITC extends its deepest condolences to his dear, devoted wife Anita Khanzadian Jones, and extended family. May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest, Eddie.”
Eddie Jones on Lois & Clark
Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman starred Dean Cain as Superman/Clark Kent and Teri Hatcher as Lois Lane. In the canon at the time, Jon (Jones) and Martha Kent (K Callan) were alive and played an active role in Clark’s life. It was based on the John Byrne 80s revival of Superman in The Man of Steel. Clark lived in Metropolis, but his super speed ensured he checked in with mom and dad every once in a while. They even helped him with his costume and cheered him in his romance with Lois.
They come from a simpler background than what Clark was dealing with in Metropolis, so often, Jon and Martha were comic relief. Still, Jones and Callan were able to show off their range throughout the show.
Eddie Jones began his acting career in 1978. He appeared in Trading Places, The Rocketeer, Sneakers and A League of Their Own, but his breakout role was Pa Kent. He even widened his range to voice acting later on when he played CCS Takkukura in the English dub of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. Over the course of his career, he earned over 75 acting credits.
Rest in peace, Eddie.
