Adams will be reprising her role as Lois Lane in the 2015 sequel to Man of Steel, so it was not surprising that reporters took the chance to ask her about the film during a press conference last Saturday. One reporter asked about any dynamic between her character and the newly casted Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and if there would be any sort of love triangle with them and Henry Cavill’s Superman. Adams’ response did not disappoint:
“Am I interested? I don’t know. I mean, we’ll see. I hope that I can be involved with a woman on-screen where we’re not in a love triangle. That would be fun. Maybe where we team up together and we work as teammates instead of adversaries. Wouldn’t it be nice if women weren’t always just, like, cat-fighting and stuff?”
This is the exact response that I think 90% of fans wanted to hear from Adams. With all the potential plot points in this film, is there really any time to spend on a superfluous, high-school love triangle? And just for the record, there have been no rumors of any sort of thing for this movie. The reason why the reporter asked was because Superman and Wonder Woman are currently together in DC Comics’ New 52. Luckily, Snyder’s Man of Steel universe has many differences and I don’t see him throwing a love-triangle into the mix.
This rings especially true when there have already been rumors of a Wonder Woman and Batman romance, which I think most Wonder Woman fans would be much more privy too, due to the fact that Diana could woman-handle Bruce with relative ease.
If Snyder were to include the Amazon warrior in a love triangle in her first role on the big screen he probably wouldn’t make it out of the premier, and that’s the way it should be
