Rumor Has it That There is an R-Rated Animated Series in the Works
There have been a lot of announcements about Alien in the past few weeks. They just announced that there’s going to be two live-action Alien series. And there’s an Alien book due out soon by Mira Grant. But the news doesn’t stop there.
An Animated Series
While there is no official confirmation just yet, it sounds like there might be an animated Aliens series on the horizon. Despite the unofficial status of the series, we actually know a surprising amount about it.
The series will be based on the video game Alien: Isolation. It’ll likely be seven episodes long, oh and did I mention that it’s probably going to be rated R? This fact actually makes a lot of sense when you think about it. The ability to do more with an animated series also means that some of the scenes will naturally be more graphic…thus resulting in a higher rating.
Axis Animation is behind the project, a company that’s known for being hyper-realistic with its animation. This is further proof that the series is probably going to end up with an R rating. Anything they portray will naturally be more realistic, and as we discussed earlier…
Observer has high hopes that the series could air as early as April. The early release date makes it really sound like they already have a lot of the series made, and just haven’t made any official announcements. If this theory is true, we should be hearing something within the next couple of weeks.
Alien: Isolation is a video game released in 2014. It’s a spinoff from the original franchise. It’s set about fifteen years after the original events in Alien. While there’s no character representing Sigourney Weaver in the game – her character’s daughter is the main character. Amanda follows in her mother’s footsteps a little too well though, as she finds herself facing off against the very aliens her mother had to battle.
