Is Andrew Lincoln Leaving The Walking Dead?

361447bc60cbb9ca986dfd7da1d0f01eThe following article is based on a rumor and should not be taken as fact.

There must be something in the rumor mill’s water. First came the rumor that Tyler Posey was leaving Teen Wolf, a rumor that was debunked by the man himself on Twitter. Now comes another rumor of the type. There’s a rumor going around that Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes in the fan favorite The Walking Dead, wants to leave the show. This would be very complicated if it were true and I would wager it might just be the end of the show if it turns out to be proven as true.

Sure there are a lot of popular characters, including the much beloved Daryl Dixon (portrayed by Norman Reedus), there’s also Melissa McBride’s Carol, Steven Yeun’s Glenn Rhee, Danai Gurira’s Michonne and Lauren Cohan’s Maggie Green but can they hold the show on their own? Can The Walking Dead really survive without Rick Grimes? If you ask me I would say no, probably not. Very few shows survive the death of titular character. Considering Rick Grimes is the main character in both TWD television show and the comics, I’m willing to bet a lot of people would be outraged with the decision.

But where is the speculation coming from? According to an article from the latest issue of OK! Magazine Andrew Lincoln is tired of the constant moving around:

Andrew Lincoln, who plays deputy Rick Grimes, wants to be zombie feed! His rep denies it, but our sources are reporting that the actor is tired of dragging his wife and two kids from their native England to Georgia where the show shoots, so he is planning his exit.”

Well while the source might be questionable it does bring a very valid point. Having to uproot your family for long periods of time must be very tiresome. Some can argue that maybe they should just stay in one place but I bet that would require long periods of time where is away from his family and he most likely wants to avoid that. Andrew Lincoln’s representatives have reached out to gossip sources and denied the news so right now it seems the claims are false.

If they are true though, I hope The Walking Dead gives him the proper send-off that he deserves.
