It’s that time again! Time to talk about our most Anticipated Book Releases for April! Given everything that has been going on lately, it’s more important than ever to appreciate the books made available to us.

Thankfully, there are plenty of new books coming out for those of us trapped inside. So that will be excellent entertainment. Oddly enough, many of the books on our list this month seem to be coming out closer to April 7th. But we’re not going to complain about that fact.

Chosen Ones by Veronica Roth – April 7

April 2020 Anticipated Book ReleasesChosen Ones is the first novel in a new series of the same name by Veronica Roth. This is also going to be her first attempt at writing outside of young adult—instead, giving an adult fantasy scene a go. Together, five unlikely heroes must team up and face their past in order to save the world.

Crave by Tracy Wolff – April 7

Crave is the latest novel to come from Tracy Wolff, and it contains within it delightful elements of both the fantasy and paranormal persuasion. One mortal walks alongside immortals, gods, and monsters. But is she an ally, or bait?

Ruthless Gods by Emily A. Duncan – April 7

April 2020 Anticipated Book ReleasesRuthless Gods is the sequel in Emily A. Duncan’s Something Dark and Holy series, and it is already looking as epic and memorable as the first. The group is being torn apart, yet they continuously end up together regardless. Now, they must once again stave off a new threat.

Bonds of Brass by Emily Skrutskie – April 7

Bonds of Brass is the first novel in Emily Skrutskie’s The Bloodright Trilogy. Set in deep space, this is a tale of loyalty, global empires, and politics. If you’re looking for a solid LGBT science fiction read, then this is a novel worth adding to your list.

The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix – April 7

April 2020 Anticipated Book ReleasesThe Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires, written by Grady Hendrix, is a delightful blend of Steel Magnolias and Dracula. Yes, you read that right. Set in the ’90s, this thriller features a women’s book club. Oh, and vampires.

Repo Virtual by Corey J. White – April 21

Repo Virtual is a novella written by Corey J. White, and it is full of science fiction elements like you wouldn’t believe. Julius Dax works two jobs. In the virtual world, he’s a repoman. In the real world, he’s a thief. Unsurprisingly, that’s about to get him into a whole lot of trouble.

Firefly: The Ghost Machine by James Lovegrove – April 28

Firefly: The Ghost Machine is the fourth novel in a planned series revolving around the fantasy world we love so much (in case it wasn’t obvious, we’re talking about Firefly). Written by James Lovegrove, this novel gives us a chance to dive back into the world and see what our beloved characters are up to.

Incendiary by Zoraida Córdova – April 28

Incendiary is the first novel in Zoraida Córdova’s latest series, the Hollow Crown. Renata Convida has the rare ability to steal memories of others. That placed a target on her head from a young age. Now, Renata is determined to live her life as she chooses—and fight for those she loves.

The Girl and the Stars by Mark Lawrence – April 30

The Girl and the Stars is the first novel in the Book of the Ice series by Mark Lawrence. Set in a dark and cold world, everyone has a place and a job. But Yaz isn’t like everyone else, and that sets her on a path to learn so much more about her world than she ever imagined possible.
