Prime Members Will Get Prime Access to Aquaman
According to Batman News, Amazon Prime members will be able to buy tickets for screenings of the upcoming Worlds of DC film Aquaman earlier than expected. The early screenings will be on 15 December 2018, which is 5-6 days before the general public will get to see it, depending on how you’re counting. The Amazon Prime advance screenings of Aquaman will be held at 7 pm on December 15, at participating theaters nationwide. These participating theaters seem to be Regal Cinemas, Cinepolis, Bow Tie Cinemas, ArcLight, Showcase Cinemas, and Studio Movie Grill. The tickets for this event are not yet on sale, so keep an eye out if you’re interested.
Not The First Time
This is not an unprecedented move on Amazon’s part. Last year, they promoted Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle in this manner. It is interesting that they’re promoting a film that’s already in a currently running major franchise, but I’m assuming that they had a financial stake in the film.
This will apparently only be a United States promotion. If international viewers feel slighted by this, they really shouldn’t. The United States is one of the latter countries in the release schedule and most major other markets will have gotten the movie by 14 December.
Jason Momoa stars as Arthur Curry/the title Super-Fishman. Other main members of the cast are Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Orm/the Oceanmaster, and Nicole Kidman as Atlanna. James Wan, who is new to the Worlds of DC franchise, is the director for the film.
For people in the United States, Aquaman will officially be in theaters on 21 December 2018 (and will have screenings the day before, like any other big movie).
