This past week seems to have been a notable one for movie trailers based on Marvel comics. A few days ago, the first trailer for X-Men New Mutants was released. This week, the first full trailer for Black Panther has been released. Check it out below!
More about Black Panther
This trailer looks absolutely amazing. The set pieces do a great job of reminding the audience that Wakanda is supposed far ahead of where the rest of society is in terms of technology. The visual effects look great as well. I don’t know a lot about the history of the Black Panther comics, so I probably have less of a handle on the plot from this trailer than long-term fans do. However, what we see of the plot intrigues me and I’m really looking forward to this film’s release this coming February.
Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, Lupita Nyong’o as undercover Dora Milaje member Nakia, playwright and actress Danai Gurira as Dora Milaje leader Okoye, Angela Bassett as queen mother Ramonda, Michael B. Jordan as Erik Killmonger (who has a surname that safely hovers around Kilgrave levels of villainy), Letitia Wright as T’Challa’s sister Shuri, Daniel Kaluuya as second in command W’Kabi, Sterling K. Brown as the mysterious N’Jobu, Forest Whitaker as elder statesman Zuri, Martin Freeman reprising his role as Everett K. Ross from Captain America: Civil War (and narrating the first section of this trailer with a passable American accent), and Andy Serkis as the malicious Ulysses Klaue/Klaw, also reprising his role from Avengers: Age of Ultron. Ryan Coogler (Creed) directed the film. He also collaborated on the script with John Robert Cole.
Black Panther will be coming to a theater near you on February 16, 2018.
