Blood Ties: Boba Fett Is Dead

If you are Star Wars fan, or come to think of it, human, then there is no way you don’t know who Boba is. The green suited clone bounty hunter, whose Mandalorian dad single-handedly fought a galaxy wide war and murdered thousands of Jedi, is one of the most popular characters in the Star Wars universe. So the fact he is dead will not come as a surprise to anyone.

Accidentally thumped in to an angry Sarlacc by a half blind Han Solo, by my reckoning, he suffered somewhere in the region of 971 years of digestion before being pooped out over a random Tatooine desert. However, it turns out he has been dead once before…well, almost.

Boba-FettIn Blood Ties: Boba Fett Is Dead we join our favourite ill-fated bounty hunter as he attempts to find the root of an attempt on his life. His search for truth has lead him to the planet Blackfel where he usefully crashes a ship in to the dead centre of an imperial base. Now he must survive an onslaught of Imperials, run-ins with the big man (Darth Vader) as well as continuing the hunt for the man who tried to get him killed.

Meanwhile, Connor Freeman, the son of one of Jango Fett’s clones, has been sent to Concord Dawn to keep an eye on Fett’s former wife, Sintas Vel, until Boba sorts everything out. (She thinks Boba is dead and Freeman doesn’t know who she is). So far Conner has lost his right arm and his cantina aiding Fett, but the bounty hunter did save his life, so swings and roundabouts and all that.

We are now on Issue #3 of this four issue run and the action shows no sign of letting up. This is a good, well written, well drawn and action packed series and I strongly recommend it!

So, will Boba find his would be assassin and escape this sort of cool death to meet his ultimate fate of being knocked into a big anus in the desert (thank you Family Guy)?

Can one bounty Hunter win against the Empire?

Why would Darth Vader hirer Boba Fett to search for Han Solo when he has destroyed half an Imperial base?

And, more importantly, will Connor Freeman get bored and have it off with the wife of one of the galaxy’s most fearsome bounty hunters?

Who knows?
