Borderlands: Making Next-Gen More Handsome

I’m sure like me a lot of you out there were hoping and praying for the FPS series favorite Borderlands to take the step into the world of next-gen. Well, in the true Gearbox spirit, our wishes have been granted. The recently announced Borderlands: The Handsome Collection crash landing on Xbox One and Playstation 4 will include both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, re-mastered in high definition! And at the price of $60, that’s hard to ignore. But if you think that the 2 for the price of 1 and the updated graphics just aren’t enough to get you to shell out the cash, how would you feel if I told you that included in the collection will be a boatload of DLC including the upcoming season pass content for The Pre-Sequel and a mess of the customization packs, headhunter maps, full campaigns and downloadable classes that have blasted onto the scene for the two amazing games? Feel that money burning a hole in your pocket yet? I know mine is.

…….SOLD. Now shut up and take my money, Gearbox.

As a nice addition to your couch co-op players, these versions were updated to include 4-person split screen capabilities. Now you and 3 friends can go head to 4 heads with Jack, Zarpedon and all of the other baddies from the Borderlands set. Now I’m sure some of you are already mourning the characters on your Xbox 360’s and PS3’s that you put so many hours of shooting and looting into–fear not! One of my favorite features of this collection is that your previous saves will carry over Xbox to Xbox and Playstation to Playstation. Even the Vita characters will carry over to the PS4!

My favorite cast of classes right here.

For those of you with $400 to blow, you might want to consider the Claptrap-In-A-Box edition of the collection. This will include everything from the regular Handsome Collection along with a collectible steel case for the games, 12 exclusive lithographs of our favorite characters and best of all — a remote control, talking Claptrap! The talking might not be everyone’s favorite part, but it’s still pretty awesome. Another nifty little feature that Claptrap brings to the table is the working camera built into his “eye socket”. You can stream the footage onto an app on your phone and see where he’s going, whether it be Clappy “untz-ing” his way straight into a wall or the poor little robot staring hopelessly at a flight of stairs. But you’re going to want to move it if you want to get your hands on this one. Only 5000 of these babies will be available and the first day to order landed on January 20th.

If you listen carefully, you can hear Borderlands fans cry into their wallets.

So make some room in your loot packs and get ready to “wub wub” your way through Pandora again; our vault hunting mission begins on March 24, 2015.

Take a look at the Handsome Trailer. It’s enough to make your mouth water and eyes bleed with happiness! Sorry . . . Kreig moment.
