Actor Carmen Argenziano Passes Away At 75
Carmen Argenziano, the actor best known for his role as Jacob Carter on Stargate SG-1, passed away Sunday at the age of 75. His representative at Event Horizon Talent confirmed the unfortunate news to TMZ Sunday night. The cause of death currently remains unknown.
Carmen Argenziano’s Legacy
Argenziano had an acting career that spanned over fifty years. He received credits for over 200 roles. He got his start in small TV roles in the late 60s and early 70s, before moving into film as well. Even though his part was small, he scored a role in The Godfather: Part II. In the 80s and 90s, he appeared in iconic shows like L.A. Law, Cheers, Ally McBeal, and Walker, Texas Ranger. He kept up his momentum in the 2000s as he appeared in The West Wing, CSI, and Criminal Minds.
The actor was best known for his role as the well-loved Jacob Carter in Stargate-SG1 between 1998 and 2005. He was in a total of 25 episodes of the science fiction classic. Jacob was a Major General in the US Air Force. He served as a host of the Tok’ra Selmak. This made him an ally of Stargate Command. The show received a total of 97 Emmy nominations, and 18 Emmy wins.
He had a few projects coming up. Shadows and Legion Maxx are in post-production now, but Preacher’s Six and Fate’s Shadow had already begun production. He was also slated to appear in The Elephant Ride, which was just announced.

Argenziano was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania on October 27, 1943 to Italian-American parents. His father was a restaurateur. He spent his life acting but did marry. He is survived by his wife, Lisa, his two sons, and his step-daughter.
