The upcoming film The Dark Tower has released some moving character posters in anticipation of today’s trailer release, comingsoon.net reports. Check out the posters below and click on the images to see the moving effect!
More about The Dark Tower:
The three posters depict each of the main characters. The first of these is heroic gunslinger Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), who is journeying to the eponymous location located at the center of time and space in order to save the universe from malevolent interference. The second character depicted is villainous sorcerer Walter Padick (Matthew McConaughey) who is also known as The Man in Black and in other Stephen King works as Randall Flagg, an enigmatic and ever present malicious force. The final character featured in one of these moving posters is Roland Deschain’s young protege Jake Chambers (Tom Taylor), who accompanies him on his mission to save the universe.
The Dark Tower is based on the series of the same name by popular author Stephen King. However, it is not an adaptation of said series. The Dark Tower is a sequel to the books, which follow Roland Deschain on an earlier journey to the center of time and space.
The Dark Tower also stars Whedonverse alumnus Fran Kranz as the Man in Black’s henchman Pimli and Abbey Lee as Tirana, who appears to be a canon foreigner. Also featured in the film are Claudia Kim as Arra Champignon, Katheryn Winnick as Laurie Chambers, Michael Barbieri as Timmy, and Jackie Earle Haley as Sayre. Nikolai Arcel is the film’s director.
The Dark Tower will be in a theater near you on August 4, 2017
