AMC Gives Chris Hardwick the Green Light to Return to Hosting
This announcement is a resolution to the fallout from the essay written by Dykstra and published on Medium back in June. This prompted AMC to cease his hosting duties for Talking Dead. Additionally, they pulled the Season 2 premiere of Talking with Chris Hardwick. He was also replaced by super-fan and frequent Talking Dead participant, Yvette Nicole Brown, for his usual hosting duties of The Walking Dead and Doctor Who panels at San Diego Comic-Con.
AMC’s Official Statement
Hardwick will resume hosting Talking Dead on August 12. This is the premiere for the second half of Season 4 of Fear The Walking Dead.
In a statement released by the cable network:
Following a comprehensive assessment by AMC, working with Ivy Kagan Bierman of the firm Loeb & Loeb, who has considerable experience in this area, Chris Hardwick will return to AMC as the host of Talking Dead and Talking with Chris Hardwick. We take these matters very seriously and given the information available to us after a very careful review, including interviews with numerous individuals, we believe returning Chris to work is the appropriate step.
Yvette Nicole Brown will still host the season 9 TWD preview special, airing on August 5. She will also appear as a guest on Talking Dead the following week.
Hardwick’s Other Endeavors
A return date for Season 2 of Talking With Chris Hardwick has not been announced yet. However, all episodes have already been produced.
Also, at this time, there have not been announcements about Hardwick’s other hosting gigs. NBC has not said if he will be returning to host The Wall later this year.
