About Kuro Kagami Cosplay
My name is Kuro, I’m Spanish, I am 23 years old. I like art, animals and terror movies!
How did you first get into cosplay?
When I was a child I started to see many animes and one day I decided that it would be fun to be one of those characters. I liked it so much that I couldn’t stop haha
Do you cosplay just for fun or do you see it as a stepping stone to a future career?
Just for fun!
Do you prefer to make your cosplays from scratch, buy or commission them or a hybrid?
I prefer to make my own cosplays, I made cosplays for other people but I didn’t like it…
How much time do you spend making each of your cosplays?
Sometimes it takes days and sometimes it takes months, according to the cosplay!
What is your favorite cosplay you done so far?
Definitely Ysera from WoW, I love the character and it was the hardest and complete cosplay I did.
What has been your most memorable experience (good or bad) as a cosplayer?
Once a girl thought that I really was a princess. I remember her face of happiness! And the worst… I’ve been insulted for some cosplays.
How do you feel about group cosplays?
It is really fun! But it is difficult to do things with so many people.
What cosplays are you currently working on or plan to finish this year?
Currently none, but I have one in mind.
What issues do you see being the most divisive in the cosplay community and how do you feel about it?
Envy, superiority, fights … people take it very seriously. I don’t care about it, I do this just for fun.
What types of characters or genres inspire your cosplay the most?
Strong and sensual women, the best of both sides.
What is your favorite part (researching, shopping for supplies, sewing, photo shoots, attending cons, etc.) of your cosplay process?
Photo shoots!! Or just when people ask me for photos at the events.
What are your best resources for cosplay materials?
Foam and hot glue! Hahaha
What has been the biggest obstacle you have had to overcome as a cosplayer?
Love oneself. Believe that you can with everything.
Have you learned any life lessons during your time as a cosplayer and what are they?
If you strive, you will get everything you want. Nobody’s born knowing.
What is your golden cosplay rule that you would share with new cosplayers?
Do the cosplay what you want, no matter what others think.
How do you feel the cosplay community has changed over time?
Undoubtedly, it is now more competitive.
If money and time were not a factor, what is your number one over-ambitious cosplay you want to do?
Yuko Ichihara from XXXHolic !!
Do you set a budget for each cosplay?
No, but I choose cheap cosplays.
What does cosplay mean to you?
Acceptance, learning, and courage!
Is there anything that would make you stop cosplaying?
Money, I just prefer use my money and my time in other things sometimes.
