There Is a Countdown Going for the Release of the Pet Sematary Trailer

The trailer for Pet Sematary is due to release on February 7th, and everyone is so excited that there’s an actual countdown happening for it. The best part? The countdown is being officially run by Paramount Pictures. (If you push play below, you can see the countdown right here.)

Pet Sematary

Pet Sematary is based on a novel of the same name by Stephen King. Not that this is actually news to anybody. This isn’t the first adaptation of the novel, but that hasn’t diminished the excitement any.

The novel follows the Creed family as they deal with circumstances that could only occur in a Stephen King novel. Thanks to the presence of a Native American burial ground, they’re forced to deal with animals, and then people, coming back from the dead.

Like many of Stephen King’s novels, it takes place in Maine—one of the many hat-tips that his fans love to point out.

The Movies

The book was originally adapted into a movie back in 1989. It’s likely that they were more tempted to make a remake of the movie since IT also had a movie that released in the ’90s, and yet blasted through theaters with fantastic sales in 2017.

The most recent adaptation of the movie is due out on April 5th, 2019. Jason Clarke is going to be playing Dr. Louis Creed, and Amy Seimetz will be playing his wife, Rachel. Lorenzo di Bonaventura is the director, and he has full confidence that the movie will do well. He believes that fans will always love the psychological chills that Stephen King’s writing is able to produce. Theoretically, that means that any adaptation that is faithful to the original content will do well. I can’t really argue with that logic. Di Bonaventura also believes that the film media surrounding Stephen King’s works is part of the reason why they are so approachable and well-loved. That one may or may not be true, but once again I can understand the logic behind it.
