The Next Book in the Wayward Children Series Officially Has a Cover
The Wayward Children series is one of Seanan McGuire‘s most popular series to date. And with good reason. Set in a universe where magical doorways have the ability to take children to different worlds, the series is full of whimsy as well as darker tones.
The series sounds whimsical and delightful, but it isn’t afraid to take deep dives into the horrors that these doors could open. The balance is excellent and has left us fans begging for more.
In this world there is a school take helps the children abandoned by their worlds. Eleanor West’s School for Wayward Children will take in any troubled child that hopes to find their door again one day. All of the stories in the series so far are based around this school or the children in it.
Come Tumbling Down
Come Tumbling Down is the official title of the fifth novella in the series. And we finally get to see the cover for this one. The series has always been known for its striking covers, so there is reason to be excited about this release.
The publisher has also released a description for the new novella. The main character – or perhaps focus – is Jack. We know Jack well from our time spent in the Moors during Down Among the Sticks and Bones.
“When Jack left Eleanor West’s School for Wayward Children she was carrying the body of her deliciously deranged sister—whom she had recently murdered in a fit of righteous justice—back to their home on the Moors.
But death in their adopted world isn’t always as permanent as it is here, and when Jack is herself carried back into the school, it becomes clear that something has happened to her. Something terrible. Something of which only the maddest of scientists could conceive. Something only her friends are equipped to help her overcome.
Eleanor West’s “No Quests” rule is about to be broken.
We expect the novella to come out in early 2020. And we couldn’t be more excited about it!
