What is Critical Role?
Now as with most YouTube/Twitch streaming stuff I am pretty much out of the loop. I have no clue what is popular and why it was popular. Luckily CNBC has a breakdown of Critical Role.
“Critical Role” is a weekly livestreamed Dungeons and Dragons game played by voice actors from TV shows “Avengers Assemble,” “Spider-Man” and “Transformers” as well as video games “Overwatch,” “The Last of Us” and “Fallout,” among others. The group started sharing their adventures on livestreaming platform Twitch in 2015 and have racked up more than 17 million views on YouTube.
Obviously, raising over 4 million dollars proves the popularity of Critical Role. You can check out the Kickstarter Campaign for yourself right here. Two people have already backed at the $20,000 level. Don’t worry there are still 3 spots left for that one. Or if you want to go all in there is a $25,000 option as well. Also, it is just fun to watch the Kickstart numbers keep rolling up super fast as more people back it.
Do you watch Critical Role? Or have you backed the Kickstarter? We want to hear what you think. Are you excited for this animated feature and what got you into the show? Let us know in the comments.
