DC Announces Three New Comic Series

Over the Weekend DC Announced Three New Series

Over the weekend at BookCon, DC Comics declared that they were releasing three new graphic novel series.

The first new series DC announced will be coming from their new Black Label Imprint. Black Label is specifically designed to draw in mature readers. These series will be darker and less afraid to cross certain lines. In short, it’s the perfect place for a Joker and Harley series.

Based on the description of this series, you needn’t worry about an overly romanticized interpretation of this duo. Harley is doing what she does best – and by that we mean she’s working as a forensic profiler. Things get personal for Harley when Joker kills her roommate.

Kami Garcia is going to be the author for the series. She’s best known for her work in Beautiful Creatures. Meanwhile, Mike Mayhew and Mico Suayan are going to be the artists.

Joker/Harley: Criminal Sanity is slated to release on October 2nd.

Teen Titans: Raven

Teen Titans: Raven is the second series that DC announced this weekend. Ironically, this series is also being written by Kami Garcia. However, that’s where the similarities end. Teen Titans: Raven is another series to go to the DC Young Adult line. I think the intent behind that line is fairly self-explanatory.

This series is actually the closest to release, with an intended release date of July 2nd. Gabriel Picolo will be the artist for the series.

Teen Titans: Beast Boy is the third series announced. Like Teen Titans: Raven, this series will be heading towards the DC Young Adult line. Actually, it has a lot more in common than that. It also has the same creative team; Kami Garcia and Gabriel Picolo.

There’s no release date yet for Teen Titans: Beast Boy. But there will be a preview of it available in Teen Titans: Raven. So check it out!
