Detective Pikachu Has Arrived
The first trailer for the first live-action Pokémon film has arrived. And I will say I am all on board for Pokemon Detective Pikachu. The film based on the popular 3DS game stars Ryan Reynolds offering his voice for the title character. Allowing everyone’s favorite Pokemon to say more than just the standard pika-pika. Alongside Reynolds, the cast includes Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton, Ken Watanabe, and Suki Waterhouse. Taking place in the fictional Rhyme City the official synopsis for the film states
“The story begins when ace detective Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son Tim to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry’s former Pokémon partner, Detective Pikachu: a hilariously wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth who is a puzzlement even to himself. Finding that they are uniquely equipped to communicate with one another, Tim and Pikachu join forces on a thrilling adventure to unravel the tangled mystery. Chasing clues together through the neon-lit streets of Ryme City–a sprawling, modern metropolis where humans and Pokémon live side by side in a hyper-realistic live-action world–they encounter a diverse cast of Pokémon characters and uncover a shocking plot that could destroy this peaceful co-existence and threaten the whole Pokémon universe.”

So what did you all think? Be sure to let us know in the comment section below. I personally was not expecting the effects to look as good as they do. It’s another example of the work Hollywood is putting in for the fans. Similar to what was seen in the Deadpool effects breakdown. Whether or not it turns out to be a good story at least it looks pretty. One this for sure is that Pokémon Detective Pikachu will be a movie that appeals to fans of all ages.
With no specific release date in 2019 announced we might still have a bit of time before we actually find out.
