Disney is giving the opportunity for Star Wars fans to vacation in a galaxy far, far away. New details emerged on Monday about the upcoming Star Wars-themed hotel at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. According to DisneyParks.com, “this first-of-its-kind resort will combine luxury with complete immersion into an authentic Star Wars story.” The hotel will complement the soon to be opened Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land inside the Disney Hollywood Studios Park.
“At the resort, guests immediately become active citizens of the galaxy and can dress up in the proper attire. Every resort window will also have a view into space. The opportunity for immersion at this resort will also stand out among all Disney resorts around the globe, as it will be seamlessly connected to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, allowing guests a total Star Wars experience.”
Fans of the HBO series Westworld may find the description of the hotel a bit familiar. Disney is promising hotel guests an “opportunity for immersion.” They can dress up in “proper attire” and every resort window will “have a view into space.” Fans are waiting for Disney to announce an opening date. Galaxy’s Edge debuts in 2019, so the resort may open around that time.
“Guests’ journey through space will start when everyone departs together for a multiday Stars Wars adventure by boarding a starship alive with characters and stories that unfold all around them during a voyage through the galaxy.”
With the massive popularity of Star Wars and Disney Parks, one can imagine the hotel books up quickly. If the hotel delivers all its promising, Disney can charge whatever they like. Fans will pay up for this type of experience. Despite the groans whenever news breaks about Disney raising their park prices, fans still show up in droves. With additions like this hotel, fans can only expect prices to increase for the years to come.
