Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Merchandise: Mugs!

If you have ever wanted to celebrate a special occasion or victory by drinking a frothy mead from the skull of a Time-Lord, here’s a real “time-saver” for you!  Thanks to Zeon, LTD, you no longer have to find your own Time-Lord or commit Gallifreyan Homicide (up to thirteen times) in order to obtain a skull to hollow out!

Zeon, LTD is producing a set of “Toby Jugs” to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who, and will be released next year on a monthly basis!  The company is also reportedly planning a “Gold Anniversary” line for next year as well.

Each mug is sculpted to look like one of the eleven incarnations of The Doctor, and the likenesses are pretty good.  In fact, it almost looks as if they have been cast from the sculpts of the Eleven Doctors Action Figure Set produced by Character Options.  If you look closely at the Ninth Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) mug, there is a pronounced line around his neck, where the articulated neck would be on an action figure.  However, the provided image is listed as being a “mock-up”, so the actual product may differ from what is shown.  The mock-up image is from Ikon Collectibles.

Bonus points to the first person that creates a fruity alcohol drink that incorporates a Jell-O brain mold!  Mmmmm….TIME LORD BRAINS!!!

About the author

Brent Kincade

Brent Kincade was born under the sign of Pertwee and has often wondered if there was an alternate universe where Aquaman was instead called Waterhombre. He also spends a fair amount of his waking life patiently waiting for friends to mention a Thunderdome so he can roll his eyes and plead, "Can't we just get BEYOND Thunderdome??" (Six times, thus far.)

His first comic book was Spidey Super Stories #4 in 1974, his first Star Trek episode was "City On The Edge of Forever" in 1975, his first Doctor Who was "The Visitation" in 1984.

Once when he was young, he stashed his vinyl Halloween Spider-Man costume in the neighbor lady's shrubs and was later caught red-handed, crawling into the shrubs to change into costume because he had, "Heard a cry for help".

He's a father, an artist, a graphic designer, a cartoonist, and usually pretty handy in a pinch. Brent is the creator of #ThatTimeOnDrWho, #ThatTimeOnStarTrek, #ThatTimeOnStarWars and co-creator of "The Magic Cantina". Brent requests the story of his days be co-written by Harlan Ellison, Steven Moffat and Neil Gaiman, drawn by John Romita, scored by Ben Folds and riffed on by the fine folks at Mystery Science Theater 3000.
