Word of the Nerd Goes to Dublin!

WOTN DOES DCC!

On Friday the 8th and Saturday the 9th of March, Word of the Nerd are going international as we head over to Dublin Comic Con!

As some of you know, our editor-in-chief, Therese, is based in Ireland. And she is heading over to the Spring Edition of Dublin Comic Con over the weekend and we’re counting down!

What Is It?

Like many conventions, DCC is a pop-culture/fandom event ideal as a family day out or a fan nerd-out! It covers everything from movies/tv shows to comics, cosplay, and gaming!

Dublin Comic Con is entering into its sixth year. And with a Spring Edition and Autumn Edition, DCC is on its 9th show. It’s an event by the fans for the fans, with a range of activities, props, and celebrities for all ages and genres of fandom!

What’s Going On?

This is a packed weekend! With cosplay villages, artist alleys, and interactive sets it’s going to be a busy few hours. The guest list is only massive with some renowned actors, including Doug Jones, James Marsters, and Jonathan Frakes. There will also be some world talent in comics with David Leach and Declan Shalvey, and some fantastic games designers including John Romero. But that’s not all—the lineup is fantastic.

There’s also Indie gaming developers, and some fantastic comic publishers including Rogue Comics Ireland.

And did we mention the cosplay? Going from previous cons the talent is going to be unreal!

What’s Next?

All this to say that if you’re on Instagram on Friday and Saturday then be sure to keep an eye out for some content and live streams from the Emerald Isle. Time difference aside, this is going a great weekend to see what we do outside the US and to discover some new favorites.

Oh, and if you’re attending, please feel free to say hi!
