Empire, the British film magazine, unveiled the cover for this week’s issue covering Batman v Superman. The cover shows Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill) in front of backdrops representing their respective cities. Batman’s Gotham is a grimy, industrial city whereas Superman’s restored Metropolis is bright, shiny, and modern.
Along with the reveal, Empire gave a sneak peek at the article with some insights from Director Zack Snyder and actor Cavill:
“There is just this gravitas to Batman,” director/producer/franchise oversees Zack Snyder stresses in our cover feature. “He is operatic.” And Superman? ” In this movie, everyone has split into different directions as to how they feel about this alien,” explains Henry Cavill. “Some people love him, some hate him. Other people fear him. Is he a tyrant?”
Snyder goes on to say “I want all the other directors of the other films to be able to stretch their legs and do what they want, but at the same time there is a big interconnected universe.”
Empire‘s article will be the first major sneak peek at behind the scenes in any press and will have several in depth interviews with the cast and crew about the film.
This issue of Empire will be on store shelves this week. Batman v Superman arrives in theaters March 26th, 2016.
