Empire Reveals More Batman v Superman Pictures

After yesterday’s cover reveal, British film magazine Empire has unveiled more sneak peek pictures that will be in the upcoming issue focusing on Batman v Superman. The three photos focus on Superman, Batman, and film antagonist Lex Luthor.

Batman v Superman SupermanFirst is Superman (Henry Cavill) in what appears to be the burnt out ruins of Wayne Manor. Has Superman stumbled upon Bruce Wayne’s big secret? Is he trying to get into Batman’s head? Rumors did fly about the Batcave no longer being in Wayne Manor as Bruce Wayne may have abandoned it for some reason. Was Wayne Manor destroyed by one of his adversaries?

Batman v Superman BatmanHere is our best view of the Bat Armor worn by Batman (Ben Affleck) in what will likely be the titanic battle between Batman and Superman, along with the Batsignal. While there is an obvious influence from Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns, there also seems to be some influence from the alternate future Batman from DC Universe Online. It definitely looks more medieval than it has in other pictures and clips we have seen so far.

Batman v Superman LexHere is Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) looking like a skinny Marky Mark on the Lex Corp basketball court. It seems that Zack Snyder and Co are shaping Lex to be more like the modern Silicon Valley tycoon than the more traditional evil CEO created by John Byrne after Crisis On Infinite Earths. He does have some subtle power in his stance, even if he looks admittedly like a dork. Also, this is a different hair style than we have seen on Lex so far in the various photos and clips. Could Eisenberg’s Lex, like his predecessors Gene Hackman and Kevin Spacey, have a variety of wigs?

The new issue of Empire is on shelves this Thursday. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice premieres March 26th, 2016.
