Recently Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the writers for Avengers: Endgame, were asked what they wanted to do next. While both writers admitted that they had no solid plans yet—at least not plans that they were able or willing to talk about—they were willing to talk about their dream writing jobs.

According to the writers, they don’t know much more than the fans at this point in time. We all know that Eternals is one of the next big projects for Marvel. However, Markus confessed that he doesn’t know much about them. That may imply that he won’t be working on that project, leaving him open to working on something else.

Markus revealed that he’s been wanting to work on a Moon Knight project for a while now. Moon Knight is a character that fans have been asking for an adaptation for years about. But this is the first time we’ve seen one of their screenwriters share the same excitement.

Christopher Markus isn’t the only one hopeful for a Moon Knight movie. Ross Marquand, best known in Marvel for his portrayal as the Red Skull, expressed interest in the role. Since Marquand was wearing a lot of makeup, it’s possible that the higher-ups in Marvel would allow for a second role (it’s happened before).

To be clear: There have been no announcements about Moon Knight being turned into a movie. This is simply writers, actors, and fans talking about what they’d love to see/work on next.

Moon Knight

Moon Knight, also known as Marc Spector, has superhuman powers—a gift from Khonshu, the Egyptian moon god. He’s frequently described as being Marvel’s Batman, though there are several differences between the two as well. One could argue that he doesn’t have quite as firm of a grasp on reality.

The movie would be fantastic for new and old fans alike, like many of the other Marvel films.
