About Eva Sfyroera
Eva Sfyroera is a professional makeup artist and a cosplay model from Greece. She is also studying Fashion Design at AKTO college. She is sewing and crafting all her costumes by herself and this made her one of the most well-known cosplayers and models in the community and in the country. Through the years, Eva Sfyroera has collaborated with Internet Cafes, other companies, artists, and photographers for commercial reasons and photoshoots. Furthermore, she is a member of the performing team FullHouse which is a showcasing group with acrobatic dances, thematic shows, and fire stunts.
How did you first get into cosplay?
I think when I saw it on YouTube for the first time in 2015 and I was impressed.
Do you cosplay just for fun or do you see it as a stepping stone to a future career?
Cosplay is always fun to do but ofc I see it as professional too.
Do you prefer to make your cosplays from scratch, buy or commission them or a hybrid?
I am sewing and crafting all my cosplays from my one except some times if I don’t have the appropriate time I ask for help so as to finish them more quickly.
How much time do you spend making each of your cosplays?
Depends on the costume.
What is your favorite cosplay you have done so far?
2b white from Nier Automata
What has been your most memorable experience (good or bad) as a cosplayer?
First time I got to stage for one cosplay competition back in 2017.
How do you feel about group cosplays?
I think is great since I am a member of the cosplay group Full House.
What cosplays are you currently working on or plan to finish this year?
Aqua from Kingdom Heart and Ciri from Witcher 3
What issues do you see as being the most divisive in the cosplay community and how do you feel about it?
The drama between the community.
What types of characters or genres inspire your cosplay the most?
Sexy and strong women.
What is your favorite part (researching, shopping for supplies, sewing, photoshoots, attending cons, etc.) of your cosplay process?
I will say photoshoots and attending cons.
What are your best resources for cosplay materials?
I don’t have any special store, but Eva Foam and nice fabrics are always the best.
What has been the biggest obstacle you have had to overcome as a cosplayer?
To deal with deadlines and crafting the difficult levels of some props.
Have you learned any life lessons during your time as a cosplayer and what are they?
You can be whoever you want.
What is your golden cosplay rule that you would share with new cosplayers?
Be patient and love what you do.
How do you feel the cosplay community has changed over time?
Most of the members have been improved through the years and the level is high.
If money and time were not a factor, what is your number one over-ambitious cosplay you want to do?
Maybe some armor from LOL?
Do you set a budget for each cosplay?
Not exactly, I just pick something that I would love to cosplay.
What does cosplay mean to you?
A lot since I see it as a professional.
How do you see the cosplay community 10 years from now?
I hope with less drama.
What is your favorite con to attend?
I will say Gameathlon since I haven’t been abroad yet.
Is there another cosplayer who inspires you or is your role model?
Do you consider yourself an inspiration to other cosplayers?
Every cosplayer is an inspiration to others concerned by their good work.
What advice would you give someone about meeting cosplayers and taking their pictures? How do you like to be approached?
Be gentlemen and if you want something ask it kindly.
What is one thing you wish your fans knew about you?
How much I love what I am doing and that I have many plans for the future.
Is there anything that would make you stop cosplaying?
I don’t think so, I love cosplay and that won’t change.
