Godzilla vs. Kong Filming Moves Forward

Even though Godzilla: King of the Monsters hasn’t hit theaters yet, it looks like Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures has already started prepping for their next big release. It’s clear that they’re anxious to get working on the anticipated blockbuster, and who can blame them?

Godzilla: King of the Monsters

The next movie in the franchise is due out in a mere six months. The cast alone looks fantastic; so many fans have high hopes for the movies’ success. It also appears to be establishing a longer running continuity; based on the characters we know will be appearing in Godzilla vs. Kong.

Along with Alexander Skarsgard, the film will be starring Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things), Vera Farmiga (The Conjuring), Sally Hawkins (The Shape of Water), Kyle Chandler (Argo), and many more.

Godzilla vs. Kong

While we haven’t seen any images yet, Legendary released a tweet earlier this week.

Additionally, the sleuths of the internet have managed to piece together quite a bit about the movie. We know that at least one actress has been asked to reprise her role. Millie Bobby Brown will be back as Madison Russell. Alongside her will be Alexander Skarsgard , Eliza Gonzalez, Jessica Henwick, and several other as of yet unconfirmed actors (that will likely be getting confirmed in the following weeks).

They have already released a short plot synopsis of the movie. It reads: “In a time when monsters walk the Earth, humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever.”

That one paragraph is giving fans quite a lot to think about, and even more to look forward to.

The People Behind the Scenes

It’s easy to forget just how many people are behind the scenes making the whole movie come to life. So let’s take a quick minute to talk about them. Adam Wingard (The Guest) is directing, Terry Rossio (Pirates of the Carribean) wrote the script, and the producers include Mary Parent, Alex Garcia, Eric McLeod, and Brian Rogers. The execute producers are none other than Kenji Okuhira, Yoshimitsu Banno, Jon Jashni and Thomas Tull. Jay Ashenfelter, Jen Conroy, and Tamara Kent are the co-producers.

So, are we looking forward to seeing the movie? Let us know in the comments below!
