How Many Films About Marijuana?

marijuana

Since the beginning of the 1970s when the first cannabis flick aired on the big screen, marijuana movies have established their market segment. Over time, the pot-loving film, Up in Smoke, transitioned from just one of weeded-up memories into a classic High Times weed film. You’ve probably heard of Cheech and Chong. These red-eyed actors led the way for the continuous release of irresistible marijuana movies.

With marijuana becoming mainstream and more accepted, Hollywood has introduced more brainless cannabis comedies. For instance, fans of James Franco thought he could not do better as a quintessential pothead in the Pineapple Express. But his comeback in This Is the End in 2013 surprised many people.

These are just some of the stoner films that most people know. The trend is slightly changing with some of the best CBD (https://vapingdaily.com/best-cbd/cbd-oils/) products taking the place of marijuana. Here are some of the all-time best marijuana movies.

Dude, Where’s My Car?

Danny Leiner directed this 2000 marijuana film. Among the stars in this movie are Ashton Kutcher, Kristy Swanson, Seann William Scott, Marla Sokoloff, and Jennifer Garner. The film is based on a story where the stars lose a car and accept stolen money, and space nerds want them to find something they can’t pronounce.

The storyline can make the film seem funny, but it is not. Seann, Ashton, and Scott lose a car belonging to Kutcher. They also get tattoos as they trip out at night. The film shows that drugs can make a person dumb.

Ted

Ted is a 2012 marijuana movie from Seth MacFarlane, creator of Family Guy. The stars in this film include Mark Wahlberg, Seth MacFarlane, Mila Kunis, Giovanni Ribisi, and Joel McHale.

It is an unrealistic marijuana movie featuring bong hits and a profane teddy bear named Ted. Mark Wahlberg is dragged down continuously by his bear. Kunis plays his girlfriend and is pissed off by the bear. What follows is an offensively hysterical interchange between these two Bostonian-accented characters.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High

This is a classic 1982 film from director Amy Heckerling. The movie features stars like Sean Penn, Judge Reinhold, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Brian Backer, Phoebe Cates, Ray Walston, and Robert Romanus.

This film hit the screen before the best CBD oil was introduced in the market, and it didn’t stick to the tie-dyed granola vibe. This movie depicts weed lovers as people that are preternaturally chill and stay centered when their teachers and peers are stressed. This portrayal makes Spicoli (Sean Penn) weirdly admirable and funny.

Super High Me

This is a 2007 film starring Doug Benson and directed by Michael Blieden. Not considering the adverse effects of marijuana, Dough Benson says he will smoke it every day for a month and try to recall filming himself. He says that he will call the film Business As Usual or Super High Me.

The star smokes every day, all day. He undergoes tests before and even after this range, from psychic ability tests to SATs. He is disappointed that what the Super Size Me man did was make them feel bad about consuming junk food during their time at an American institution.

This Is the End

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg directed this 2013 film. Among the stars in this movie are James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, Jay Baruchel, Michael Cera, Craig Robinson, and Emma Watson.

This film is about self-righteous, baked actors that play themselves. The plot of the film features Craig Robinson singing “take the panties off” with Kevin Hart and Rihanna as they kick Aziz Ansari down the fiery death pit. They also disturb Jonah Hill’s comical exorcism.

Billy Madison

Billy Madison is another classic stoner film that hit the big screen before the best full-spectrum CBD oil products became available to consumers. It features Adam Sandler, Josh Mostel, Bradley Whiteford, Norm Macdonald, Bridgette Wilson, and Darren McGavin. The film is directed by Tamra Davis.

In this movie, Adam Sandler plays Billy in his best simple-mindedness. He is an aimless and developmentally stunted rich kid, aged 27 years. He has to go through elementary, junior, and high school to take control of his dad’s business from smarmy nemesis. In his little seat, the big man is simple, especially after having five bong rips.

How High

This classic 2001 stoner film was directed by Jesse Dylan. It stars the Method Man, Obba Babatunde, Redman, Lark Voorhies, and Mike Epps. In this film, Redman and Method Man parlay their fame as blunt-smoking rappers. It’s an entertaining film where two smokers attend Harvard but blaze their place when they ace a college admission examination with a nerdy friend’s help. It’s easy to think that the plot is too much.

But, tough bake-offs, this film has more to offer than just the weed jokes. It also depicts girls that love weed and how they prank dudes from different races and make them look goofy as they overindulge in the plant. Research has shown that peer influence plays a role in marijuana use in different friendships. This film shows how exactly this works.

All films about marijuana are different. In some films, characters take an occasional toke. In others, characters are depicted as having turned the wake-and-bake habit into their way of life. The reactions of characters to marijuana consumption are also different. Some react insanely after having a few puffs while others get the giggles. In some films, characters are unable to get off their couches after having few monster bowls. Nevertheless, all silver-screen smokers have provided potheads with film heroes they consider theirs.

In modern marijuana films, characters use marijuana in different forms and for varied reasons. For instance, some aspects are using the best CBD oil for pain. Though the reason for using marijuana could be changing, the fact is that the films are changing the perspectives of the audience towards weed.
