John C. Reilly, the voice of the title character from the 2012 film “Wreck It Ralph,” has confirmed that he is officially signed up for “Wreck It Ralph 2.” By doing so, he has confirmed that there will be a “Wreck It Ralph 2,” or at least there are firm plans for it.
Rumors about “Wreck It Ralph 2” initially started when composer Henry Jackman gave his impression that such a film was being written and under development. Other rumors regarding this film have included possible negotiations with Nintendo. Some sources have suggested that Disney and Nintendo may be in talks to allow Disney to include notable characters such as Mario, Luigi, and Link in the next Wreck It Ralph movie. We do not know the progress made on these negotiations.
In 2012, “Wreck It Ralph” did really well at the box office, making $189 million in the North American markets and $471 million in the worldwide markets. It also starred Jack McBrayer as “Fix It Felix,” Sarah Silverman as “Vanellope Von Schweetz,” and Jane Lynch as “Sergeant Tamora Calhoun.” There has not been any news about whether any of the actors mentioned above have joined the sequel’s cast. That shouldn’t be a cause to worry though, as it’s still in the early days.
