Welcome Two the Jungle
Yeah, that’s not the title, I just love puns, but the new title for the Jumanji sequel has been leaked. The 2017 remake/reboot Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, was a summer smash that surprised me and, I would say, most moviegoers.
It was inevitable that a sequel would come along, and now we have confirmation. The sequel to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle will be titled Jumanji: The Next Level. This was revealed through a leak/post on Alberta Film Ratings. (Ed. note: looks like they have since remedied that, so… we can’t prove it. But it was there!)
What to Expect
It’s believed that the trailer will drop soon, in similar fashion to the first film, by appearing with the new Spider-Man film. If that’s the case then we can expect to see a trailer this coming week with Spider-Man: Far From Home.
If you loved the cast from the first film, especially the surprise amazingness of the romance between Jack Black and Nick Jonas, don’t worry, they’re all back.
That’s right! The people’s champ Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kevin “The Heart” Hart, Karen “Be Killin'” Gillan, Jack “Attack” Black, and Nick “Dream-Boat” Jonas are all back! Joining the already heck of a cast are Awkwafina, Danny DeVito, and Danny Glover.
Jake Kasdan will be returning to produce the project. Kasdan has said that production will be quick and feel natural as a followup to the story. He went on in an interview with Collider to talk more about the film.
“It’s a big part of what we’ve all loved about that story and that movie was that it was this big fantasy that has kind of like a real kind of like strong, emotional center to it, and I do think that’s a big part of what DJ responded to about it in the first place, and I know it’s a big part of what I loved about it. So part of the challenge of figuring out how it continues is to keep that alive in ways that feel earned and, you know, like a true continuation of the story.” Kasdan told Collider.
