News for Leigh Bardugo’s Latest Works
Leigh Bardugo, the famous and well-loved young adult author, just revealed the cover and description for her next project. To make matters more exciting, the reveal comes with an excerpt!
Leigh Bardugo is best known for her young adult works, especially the Grishaverse novels. She’s a New York Times Bestseller, whose works have been translated into dozens of different languages. She can boast that her works have sold over three hundred million copies—no small feat!
Leigh Bardugo’s works have been drawing even more attention as of late, thanks to the Netflix announcement that they’d be adapting the series. The series is going to be eight episodes in length, and a combination of two of the best selling novels.
Ninth House is the first novel in a two-part series from Flatiron Books. Leigh Bardugo actually signed the contract for her new series back in 2016. But we’re just now getting our first big news about it. Ninth House is currently scheduled to be released on October 1st, 2019. So feel free to rush off and pre-order it now! In the meantime, read below for the description of the new novel.
“Galaxy ‘Alex’ Stern is the most unlikely member of Yale’s freshman class. Raised in the Los Angeles hinterlands by a hippie mom, Alex dropped out of school early and into a world of shady drug-dealer boyfriends, dead-end jobs, and much, much worse. In fact, by age 20, she is the sole survivor of a horrific, unsolved multiple homicide. Some might say she’s thrown her life away. But at her hospital bed, Alex is offered a second chance: to attend one of the world’s most prestigious universities on a full ride. What’s the catch, and why her?
“Still searching for answers to this herself, Alex arrives in New Haven tasked by her mysterious benefactors with monitoring the activities of Yale’s secret societies. Their eight windowless ‘tombs’ are the well-known haunts of the rich and powerful, from high-ranking politicos to Wall Street’s biggest players. But their occult activities are more sinister and more extraordinary than any paranoid imagination might conceive. They tamper with forbidden magic. They raise the dead. And, sometimes, they prey on the living.”
And of course, here is the link for the excerpt. Enjoy!
