Life of Pi Trailer Released

There are a few books in my collection that I recommend to people. There are even I few that I will actually lend to people, even though I hate doing that in fear they come back mangled and in disrepair. Life of Pi is one of those books. My copy has seen many different homes and been exchanged through many hands. It is just one of those books. I am sure you have one as well. A book that you must want everyone to pick up so you can share your views on it. Well now that book is getting the Hollywood treatment. About a month ago, we covered the first clip from the film. It was brief and only offered a quick glimpse of the main character and the bengal tiger, which he is trapped on a life boat with.

Well now, for your viewing pleasure, I give you the full trailer for Life of Pi.

[youtube]I must say that this trailer does not only show enough of the story to pique people’s interest but delivers it in such visual splendor that people should definitely put this on their list of must see movies this year. The film is being directed by Academy Award Winning director Ang Lee and stars a relative newcomer Suraj Sharma, who could jump start his career with this film, by playing the titular character Piscine ‘Pi’ Patel.

For those of you who have yet to read the book (it really is a must read), it is written by Yann Martel and is about a boy moving to Canada with his parents and their zoo. When the boat sinks in the middle of the ocean, the young boy Pi Patel is left to survive on a life boat with a zebra, orangutan, hyena and a Begnal tiger named Richard Parker. But I won’t say anymore, you should just read it and see what happens from there.

So what do you think fellow nerds? Have you read the book? Are you excited for this film come November? Let us know in the comments below!!
