Lynda Carter Makes Her Mark on Hollywood Boulevard
According to CBR.com, Lynda Carter is going to get her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Carter’s star will be placed into the Walk of Fame on 3 April 2018. She follows fan favorite Mark Hamill, who got his star just last week, on 8 March 2018.
More Than Wonder Woman
Lynda Carter is best known for playing Wonder Woman (alias Diana Prince) in the classic Wonder Woman TV show. The show ran for a total of three seasons from 1975 to 1979. Lynda Carter also appeared in the shows Partners in Crime, Two and a Half Men, Law and Order, and Hawkeye (based on the novels of James Fenimore Cooper, not the Marvel character). She also played Principal Powers in the Disney Channel Original Movie Sky High.
DC fans may know her best as Wonder Woman, but Lynda Carter has also appeared in the new DC TV universe. In season 2 of Supergirl, Carter appeared as United States President Olivia Marsdin. Like Wonder Woman, Marsdin had to hide that she had abilities other than human. Unlike Wonder Woman, this was because Olivia Marsdin was secretly an alien, and aliens aren’t exactly eligible to become president. However, Carter was not cast as the president of the United States elsewhere in the Arrowverse. This is because producers thought viewers would be confused by her recurrence in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
Lynda Carter did not appear in last year’s Wonder Woman, but she says that she would be willing to appear in the upcoming sequel. Wonder Woman 2 just cast its villain (Kristen Wiig) and is scheduled to begin shooting this summer. Wonder Woman 2’s tentative premiere date is 1 November 2019. Director Patty Jenkins is returning for the sequel. Returning to the topic at hand, Jenkins is also going to speak at Carter’s Hollywood star dedication ceremony.
