As previously reported, Gotham showrunners announced their plans to course-correct the show in several ways, including the recast of the younger iteration of Poison Ivy. Deadline notes that WBTV has announced that former Miss Vermont Teen, Maggie Geha, will be replacing Clare Foley on the show.
Say Hello to Maggie Geha
Gotham producers had stated they were in search for a young actress in her late teens to replace 14-year-old Clare Foley on Gotham, but 28-year-old Maggie Geha has been cast instead. According to the character description for Ivy Pepper/Poison Ivy, “Following an encounter with a monster from Indian Hill, Ivy Pepper finds herself reborn, and one step closer to the DC villain she is destined to become: Poison Ivy. Now a 19-year-old woman who’s harnessed the full power of her charms, she sets her sights on Bruce Wayne.” The almost 10-year age difference between actress and character should make things interesting.
Maggie Geha has previously appeared in Ted 2, In Stereo, and will be seen in the upcoming crime-drama thriller, The Harrow. With less acting experience than Clare Foley, who is half her age, it will be intriguing to see how she takes on the iconic role of supervillain Poison Ivy.
Though Foley will no longer be making her recurring appearances on Gotham, you can soothe your bruised heart by watching her in Sinister, Southpaw, and Half the Perfect World, a romantic comedy set to release later this year. We wish her luck and fame in her future endeavors!

Season 3 of Gotham will premiere on September 19 at 8 PM ET on FOX. Along with the brand new Poison Ivy, this season is also set to introduce the Mad Hatter and Gotham Gazette reporter, Valerie Vale, the aunt of Vicki Vale.
