X-Force Character Bites the Dust in X-Force #4
It was teased on the cover of X-Force #4 and earlier on in the series, but you can never really trust those. But it seems writer Ed Brisson has followed through in this issue. In this new series, X-Force has been attempting to free mutants from Transian. It seems the government there dislikes mutants and is trying to wipe them out. The battle waged on in X-Force #4 as the team was extracting several mutants from a holding facility until the unthinkable happened. So, obviously, major spoilers ahead: if you haven’t read X-Force #4 and or do not want it spoiled then you should definitely not read any further!
Warning: Spoilers Ahead!
Comicbook.com reports that it is none other than “fan favorite” X-Force member Warpath who bites the dust! “Warpath” James Proudstar has been a longtime and founding member of X-Force since its launch in 1991. Brisson is only four issues into his run on the series so it is a little shocking he would take such a big name member out of the lineup.
What might be even more shocking is Warpath’s killer; it is none other than Stryfe! Stryfe is a clone of Cable, and the “young” Cable happens to be on this X-Force team. X-Men comics can be very strange, y’all. So, Stryfe is back and looking to cause havoc to this X-Force team, and starts by stabbing Warpath through the chest!
Comic Book Death
If you are reading this you are probably not new to comics, so you know we can probably take this “death” with a grain of salt. The panel only shows Warpath being stabbed and falling down. So, it is not “official” yet, we will have to wait until issue #5. Plus even if he is “dead” we all know these comic book deaths don’t usually last very long. Are you reading X-Force? What are your thoughts on the series and this turn of events? Let us know in the comments.
